Not All DJs & Discos Are The Same

Our DJs have recently performed at weddings where the bride and groom were very specific about styles of music to be played. We have played at weddings with a 'no cheese' policy, and the music requested was Indie, Northern Soul, Ska and Motown. This went down a storm with the guests, but you must be sure if requesting these specific genres.

You may be surprised what people will dance to once they are relaxed and in a party mood - and also what they request! We do play requests and there's not much we won't play unless you ask us not to when booking.

A Typical Running Order

Based on a 7:30 - Midnight wedding function, the following is an example of how we might structure your evening's entertainment. Every wedding is different, so please do take this as a guide... there are no rules!

6:30pm - Your DJ will arrive and advise venue staff. As soon as the room is cleared and made available we commence setup.

7:30pm - Equipment is set up neatly and the DJ has changed into formal wear, lounge suit or smart/casual depending on your requirements, and background music is playing as the evening guests arrive.

8:30pm - The traditional first dance chosen by the bride & groom will normally be the 'official' start of the evening where the music volume is increased, everyone is welcomed to the function and the DJ announces the newlyweds onto the dancefloor. Some couples prefer to dance on their own, enjoying the spotlight, but others prefer to have friends & family join them after a short while. We normally suggest having a couple of slow dances to follow so that the bride and groom can dance with immediate family members. Sometimes couples will defer the 'first dance' until later in the evening - remember it's your day and we will do whatever you are comfortable with!

8:45pm - More lively music, depending on requests and wishes of course. A complete selection can be played to cater to everyones tastes - young or old.

9:30pm - Buffet will be announced, and the DJ will revert to background music whilst people eat and relax.

10:00pm - Disco re-starts playing a selection of classics, your requests and party tunes.

11:45pm - Depending on how you'd like to round off the evening we can either wind down with a few romantic slow songs, or perhaps go upbeat! The choice is yours. If you'd like a big send-off song or a traditional arch for your exit, we can co-ordinate that for you.

Midnight - DJ will say goodnight and the disco finishes.
