Solitaire Events - Established 1984
Solitaire Events was established as a mobile disco and DJ hire company in 1984 by Darren Thomas who had always wanted to be a DJ because of his love of music.
A Potted History
In 1987, a newly-built local hotel employed Solitaire to supply the mobile disco and DJ for their very first staff party and were so impressed that they offered the contract to us to be the recommended disco company for them. After that things took off rapidly, with new DJs put in place to help cover the influx of work. We are proud to say that after 25 years we are STILL supplying DJs to the Reading Moat House Hotel and continue to maintain an excellent working relationship with them.
After many years of supplying DJs to different establishments we were also invited to be the recommended entertainment partner for Rivers Ibis Club, where over the last 14 years we have supplied many DJs, presented karaoke events and also run their quiz league. We have many satisfied customers from the Ibis Club, including many departments from the Prudential and numerous sports clubs who play there.
Our DJs and presenters have played at just about every type of function imaginable, therefore gaining experience in knowing what gets people off their seats and onto the dancefloor. This is coupled with the correct attitude, dress sense and client courtesy which makes our DJs consumate professionals.
In 1994 we became the recommended company for Sonning Golf Club where we have satisfied many customers with top nights of entertainment - and again we are pleased to say that we are still helping them with their entertainment needs.
Looking Forward
In 2009 we became the recommended entertainment company for Hilton St Anne's Manor, Wokingham, and we look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with them.
For the last five years we have successfully supplied the entertainment for the Gatwick Moat House Hotel for their corporate Christmas functions.
Solitaire Events Ltd continues to build relationships with ever more quality venues and hotels. We are pleased to be associated with the Mercure Elcot Park where we have supplied themed festive entertainment for the last two seasons, and the stunning Waldorf Hilton, London, where we are recommended exclusively. We are also on the recommended supplier list for Beaumont House in Old Windsor and we look forward to hosting many functions in their magnificent Chapel. Finally, December will see us supplying the entertainment for the Christmas season at a number of our regular venues in the area.
